Programs for news media professionals
The Maynard Institute’s professional development training programs have operated for more than 50 years. For nearly a decade before our co-founders established the Maynard Institute in 1977, they ran summer training programs for minority groups in journalism at Columbia University and the University of California, Berkeley.
After learning from the best in the business, Maynard graduates distinguish themselves in their own careers. Graduates have become leading newsroom executives and outstanding reporters, editors, authors, and journalism school professors. Some have gone on to win the Pulitzer Prize.
Journalism programs are open to all mid-to-late career professionals. We give the next generation of diverse leaders in media the resources needed to thrive.
