Are you a talented digital video editor who can make the pictures and words match, use sound to make stories sing, and who understands that TV News is about visuals? Do you edit quickly and accurately under pressure? We need you for an exciting new newscast project we're about to launch. We're looking for one full-time and several part-time editors/floor crew members. If you're a talented editor, we'll teach you the skills you need to operate studio floor cameras and other newscast equipment. And, if you qualify, we'll also give you the opportunity to cross-train and learn news skills outside of editing.

MIJE/POLITICO/AU Journalism Training Program

The Maynard Institute will partner again in 2015 with POLITICO and American University to run the POLITICO Journalism Institute, a program that will bring  a dozen promising college students from around the country for training in covering politics and government.

The program will run from June 5-12. Expenses including transportation and housing will be covered. The application deadline is May 8.

"Expanding the diversity of the press corps that covers Washington continues to be a critical need. We are pleased to partner again with POLITICO and American University and build on the success of last year’s program in training a new generation of journalists, said Maynard Institute acting executive director Evelyn Hsu.
