EdTrust will cover travel, hotel, and registration expenses for the selected participants. The conference program includes plenary sessions and workshops focused on improving academic outcomes and ensuring that all students, regardless of background, achieve at higher levels. Additional sessions planned exclusively for reporters include briefings with federal officials and trainings that will help journalists learn how to find, evaluate, and use school data in local education coverage as well as ways to identify successful schools and what to look for when visiting school campuses.
To apply, please send the required application materials to Lauren Stephens at lstephens@edtrust.org no later than Friday, October 2, 2009. Applicants must be affiliated with a news media outlet (print, online, or broadcast) and be available for the duration of the conference. Email applications should include: name, title, media outlet, email address, telephone number, mailing address, and a brief personal statement about your interest in this conference and how it relates to your work.
